Blåisvatne: Hidden gem in Troms
At Pust, we believe in connecting with nature—not just through our saunas and cold plunges, but by exploring the beautiful landscapes around us. Recently, the Pust team took a trip to one of Tromsø’s hidden gems, Blåisvannet (Blue Ice Lake), and we’re excited to share our experience with you.

What Makes Blåisvannet Special
Blåisvannet, or “Blue Ice Lake,” is famous for its bright blue waters, created by glaciers melting into the lake. It’s an incredible spot that feels like it’s straight out of a postcard, surrounded by towering peaks and untouched wilderness. A true Arctic experience, and one we recommend to anyone visiting Tromsø.

How to Get to Blåisvannet
Blåisvannet is located about two hours from Tromsø, making it a great day trip for those who want to venture beyond the city. To reach it, you’ll need to drive towards Lyngseidet, where you’ll find a parking lot near the trailhead. The hike itself is relatively moderate, with a well-marked trail that takes you through picturesque landscapes of rivers and glaciers, before revealing the breathtaking view of the lake. The hike typically takes around 2–3 hours round trip, depending on your pace.
Bonding Experience:
Spending time outdoors is incredibly valuable. Whenever we get the chance to step away from our desks and the saunas, we love reconnecting with nature. This day trip to Blåisvannet was not only fun for the team, but it also gave us the chance to try out a new local experience—none of us had been there before! As a company that often recommends activities to our customers, it’s important that we’ve tried them ourselves. Now, we can confidently say Blåisvannet is a must-see.
